What are the warning signs of hearing loss & need for hearing aids?
Experiencing difficulty understanding speech or frequently asking others to repeat themselves may indicate a need for a hearing test, particularly as you age or if there’s a family history of hearing loss. Ringing in the ears is also a sign that shouldn’t be ignored. It’s recommended to have a hearing test and hearing aid exam at least once every ten years before age 50, and every three years after that. Certain occupations or hobbies exposing you to loud noises may necessitate more frequent testing to detect any potential impact on your hearing ability. Early detection can significantly improve treatment outcomes and quality of life.

I visited Bexley Hearing Centre two weeks ago to have a hearing test and to look into the possibility of having a new hearing aid that fits into the ear canal as I find over the ear hearing aids to be uncomfortable worn with my glasses. The service was excellent. I wasn’t rushed in making a decision and was given a thorough explanation of what would work best for me. I returned today to collect my bespoke in the ear hearing aid and I am over the moon with it. It feels so comfortable ( I can’t feel it in my ear) and it has transformed my hearing. The after care is extremely good and I feel assured that if I have any problems I can go back and get it sorted. The premises are clean and modern and both of the staff I saw were friendly. We perform pure tone audiometry and also test your ability to cope with speech in noise and demonstrate hearing aids.
We are registered with the HCPC (The Health and Care Professions Council) and a fellow member of BSHAA (British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists).
As we are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, you do not need to be referred by a GP or ENT Consultant to book an appointment with us. We are also accepted providers of hearing health care by most medical insurance companies.
