Your hearing aids should last at least five years. All the hearing aids Sound Hearings prescribe come with a five-year manufacturer’s warranty. For a hearing aid to last five years at peak performance, it will need regular maintenance. For most hearing aids, maintenance is not difficult, unless you have issues with eyesight and dexterity.
Hearing loss often deteriorates slowly over time; therefore, hearing aid users should have their hearing loss retested periodically. If hearing loss has occurred, the hearing aids should be reprogrammed to the new prescription.
Many hearing aid providers provide free aftercare to support you with your hearing aids. However, if you have lost contact with your hearing care provider or are unable to travel to their clinic, consider contacting Sound Hearing for a home visit hearing test, hearing aid service and programming.
