ReSound Vivia MicroRIE 9

The ReSound Vivia MicroRIE 9 is rechargeable and the only product that features a dual-chip architecture.

The 360 chip is always in use and operates 360 All-Around, which automatically adjusts directional microphone patterns in the hearing aid to allow users to hear what’s important and monitor the sounds around them.

The 360 Chip also uses Environmental Classifier to automatically detect the listening environment you are in and adjust the hearing aid settings to maximise speech understanding.

Vivia MiroRIE 9 is the only hearing aid in the Vivia range that contains the second DNN AI chip.  Access the Intelligent Focus AI program using the DNN chip by pressing the hearing aid button or your phone app. By using AI, this program is more intelligent in recognising and separating speech from noise. ReSound describe this as ‘natural hearing’ where the user hears speech clearly while still being aware of the background noise.

Vivia MicroRIE 9 features a 360 All-Around Directionality, which automatically adjusts directional microphone patterns in the hearing aid to allow users to hear what’s important and monitor the sounds around them.

Viva MicroRIE 9 is also the only hearing aid in the range that features double tap – answer your phone or start/pause streaming by double-tapping your hearing aid.

If you need the best hearing aid to hear in complex, noisy environments with the added benefit of double tap, Vivia microRIE 9 is the model to choose.

ReSound Vivia microRIE 7

The ReSound Vivia microRIE 7 is rechargeable and features the new 360 Chip, which automatically adjusts the hearing aids settings depending on the sound environment using Environmental classifier and All Access Directionality. Without the second AI chip, it relies on Front Focus and Noise Tracker II to give you the best chance of hearing speech in loud background noise. These features were previously only available on the top-of-the-range ReSound Nexia hearing aid.

ReSound Vivia microRIE 5

Rechargeable with the new 360 chip. Vivia microRIE 5 utilises Environmental Classifier, Ultra Focus and Noise Tracker II to help separate background noise from speech, a feature previously only available in Nexia Advanced technology.

ReSound Vivia RIE 61 & 62 9

These hearing aids utilise disposable Zinc-Air batteries, with the RIE 61 using size 312 (brown sticker) and the RIE 62 using the larger and longer-lasting size 13 (orange sticker) battery. With the bigger battery, RIE 62 is slightly larger than RIE 61.

They only contain the 360 chip. The reason for the absence of a DNN chip in this top-of-the-range product is thought to be that the power discharge from disposable batteries is insufficient to power the DNN chip.

These hearing aids use 360 All-Around and environmental classifier to adjust the hearing aids as the sound environment changes automatically.

Without the DNN chip, ReSound has developed a new feature called Clear Focus. Clear Focus is activated manually via the hearing aid button or the phone app in noisy situations. It is designed to maximise speech from the front while minimising sounds from all other directions.

No double tap for answering telephone calls in versions of Vivia.

The RIE 62 features a telecoil, which picks up sound from a loop system commonly found in churches and theatres.

If you prefer a disposable battery hearing aid, we recommend the RIE 62. It features a multi-function button, allowing all hearing aid functions to be accessed without the need for a smartphone, a telecoil and a longer-lasting battery.

ReSound Vivia RIE 61 & 62 7

At this technology level, you get the 360 Chip, which operates an Environmental Classifier and All Access Directionality. They use  Front Focus and Noise Tracker II to give you the best chance of hearing speech in loud background noise.

ReSound Vivia RIE 61 & 62 5

Version 5 still features the 360 chip and utilises Environmental Classifier, Ultra Focus, and Noise Tracker II to help separate background noise from speech.

Advanced Hearing Technology in ReSound Vivia

360 Chip

The new 360 chip allows for real-time environmental classification. It constantly scans and classifies the sound environment, so the hearing aids activate the right feature at the right time to reduce background noise and improve speech clarity.

The 360 chip also automatically adjusts the hearing aid’s directional microphone patterns, enabling users to focus on what’s important and monitor the sounds around them.

360 All-ARound

Our binaural hearing strategy uses real-time information about the user’s environment and stronger directional patterns to ensure smooth adjustments of directional settings.  Compared to All Access Directionality, 360 All Around offers a more advanced omnidirectional signal with improved range, which helps reduce the head shadow effect and enhances natural sound perception.

All Access Directionality

Uses real-time information about the user’s environment to automatically adjust the directional microphone patterns according to a binaural hearing strategy.

The binaural beamformer maximises SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) by automatically adjusting the directional microphone patterns to place users in the best and most natural position to hear what is important while still monitoring the sounds around them.

Intelligent Focus with Intelligent Noise Reduction

The Deep Neural Network DNN Chip operates on top of the 360 chip and works to create a greater contrast between unwanted noise and speech. The DNN Chip has been trained using 13.5 million sentences spoken in the presence of changing environmental sounds, continually learning to enhance speech clarity while recognising and reducing background noise. It powers the new Intelligent hearing aid program, featuring intelligent noise reduction, which results in improved speech understanding with reduced listening effort.

Clear Focus

Clear Focus is a feature in the ReSound Smart 3D App. It utilises ReSound’s most advanced beamformer technology and is designed for use in noisy environments, enabling maximum enhancement of sounds from the front. Clear Focus succeeds Front Focus.

Front Focus

Forms a powerful directional pattern using the sound from both hearing aids, allowing the user to focus on the person in front of them.
By utilising all four hearing aid microphones to create a bilateral beamformer, Front Focus enables the user to focus on what they want while maintaining auditory awareness of surrounding sounds. The binaural beamformer in Front Focus offers higher resolution than the legacy Ultra Focus. ReSound research suggests Front Focus results in ‘an astounding 150% improvement in speech recognition in noisy environments.’

Ultra Focus

Front Focus supersedes Ultra Focus.  Ultra Focus forms a directional pattern using the sound from both hearing aids, so your patient can focus on the person in front of them.

When the sound environment is most demanding, Ultra Focus helps you hear and understand speech, allowing you to stay connected to others.

NoiseTracker II

Reduces noise by spectral subtraction. It analyses the incoming sound and recognises and separates the noise from the speech. This allows the noise spectrum to be effectively “subtracted” from the total signal without affecting the speech. NoiseTracker II aims to improve listening comfort without compromising speech understanding.

Environmental Classifier

The Environmental Classifier operates in real time, determining the environment around it. It classifies sounds into one of seven categories based on the amount of noise and speech. The Environmental Classifier automatically adjusts the hearing aid settings to maximise speech understanding as the listening environment changes around you.

Auracast

Auracast ready. Auracast is a Bluetooth audio-sharing technology that enables a single device, such as a smartphone, TV, or speaker, to broadcast high-quality audio to an unlimited number of nearby compatible receivers, including earbuds and hearing aids.
