Description
Oticon Own SI Hearing Aids
In March 2025, Oticon released its new custom in-the-ear discreet-style hearing aid range, OWN SI. OWN SI supersedes the Oticon Own Hearing Aid range. Oticon Own SI is available in four technology levels: Own SI 4, Own SI 3, Own SI 2, and the top-of-the-range Own SI 1.
Sound Hearing supplies all Oticon Own SI Hearing Aids with a 5-year warranty.
Oticon Own SI shares the same technology and software as the Oticon Intent RIC hearing aids.
Direct call streaming and Bluetooth are currently unavailable, with Own SI invisible in the canal and completely in the canal models.

Who will these hearing aids be suitable for?
These new hearing aids from Oticon are suitable for people with hearing loss who want superior sound quality in a small package. Though the CIC contains more hearing aid technology than the IIC model, the user will not mind that the hearing aids do not have Bluetooth and direct streaming and cannot be used as personal headphones. However, since the microphones are in the ear canal and will use the user’s unique ear shape and natural pinna effect (see bottom for description), surrounding sounds will be naturally enhanced, allowing for excellent speech clarity.
These hearing aids are very small and use the smallest battery available, lasting 4 to 5 days. If you have dexterity or eyesight issues, you may find them hard to use.
Oticon’s SI hearing aids are suitable for people with mild to severe hearing loss.
Own SI Colours
Own SI IIC hearing aids are available in all the colours shown. The CIC model is only available in Beige, Light Brown, Medium Brown, FArk Brown and Black.
Oticon Own is available in shell colours beige, light brown, medium brown, dark brown, black, transparent red shell, transparent red shell and transparent shell.
New Technology
The new Sirius™ platform powers Oticon’s Intent: Sirius™ Deep Neural Network (DNN) 2.0, MoreSound Intelligence™ 3.0 and MoreSound Amplifier™ 3.0 to operate. It allows for a wide dynamic range of sounds – 80 to 10,000 Hz, giving a superior sound quality in speech and music.
Deep Neural Network (DNN) 2.0
Oticon’s Deep Neural Network (DNN) technology is an artificial learning (AI) form that simulates how the human brain learns and processes information. The Depp Neural Network in Oticon hearing aids is trained on many sound scenes, enabling it to effectively recognise and prioritise speech over noise. This results in a more natural listening experience, with improved clarity and easier speech understanding for the user. By mimicking the brain’s learning process, Oticon’s DNN technology aims to provide a more intuitive and efficient hearing solution, making it easier for users to engage in conversations and interact with their environment.
Oticon Intent introduces a new and improved version of DNN that enhances how we hear the world. This update brings more precise sounds, more distinct speech, and better background noise reduction.
- It’s been taught with a broader variety of sounds, especially the tricky ones, to ensure nothing important gets missed.
- It’s been challenged more during its learning phase to perform even better.
- It keeps sounds true to their original form, so you lose less detail in conversations and the noise around you.
- It’s now even better at tuning out distractions, reducing unwanted noise significantly in busy settings.
MoreSound Intelligence™ 3.0
More Sound Intelligence 3.0 works with the Deep Neural Network and Artificial Intelligence, constantly scans the sound environment, and adapts the hearing aid to the user’s environment and listening needs.
MoreSound Optimiser™
MoreSound Optimiser detects and prevents the hearing aid from feedbacking (whistling) without sacrificing gain (volume). This gives users improved access to speech details, increased comfort, and improved speech understanding.
SuddenSound Stabiliser
Sudden loud sounds like slamming doors or rattling cutlery are familiar. SuddenSound Stabiliser acts fast and instantly detects and reduces the volume of these uncomfortable sounds. Providing the appropriate gain reduction and immediately releasing the gain when the sound ends.

The pinna (outer ear) plays an essential role in sound localisation. It channels sound waves entering the ear canal, helping the brain determine the direction and location of sounds.
-
Benefits of Preserving the Pinna Effect:
- Natural Sound Quality: CIC hearing aids can provide a more natural sound experience because the outer ear and ear canal can filter and shape sounds naturally.
- Improved Sound Localization: By preserving the pinna effect, CIC hearing aids can help users better localize sounds, making it easier to determine where sounds are coming from.
- Better Performance in Background Noise: The pinna’s natural noise filtering can help CIC hearing aid users hear better in noisy environments.
- Natural Sound Quality: CIC hearing aids can provide a more natural sound experience because the outer ear and ear canal can filter and shape sounds naturally.
