The Complete Guide to Signia Pure Charge&Go MaX Hearing Aids
Want the details? The rest of this page covers how the Signia Pure Charge&Go MaX works, who it suits, how it compares with Signia IX and older models, and answers to common questions. It is premium hearing technology, and at Sound Hearing, it includes independent hearing care from the first hearing test through lifetime aftercare.
Signia MaX Explained: Four AI Systems, One Hearing Aid
MaX stands for Multi-adaptive Xperience. It is Signia’s newest hearing aid platform, made by WS Audiology, and the Pure Charge&Go MaX is the first hearing aid built on it.
Most AI hearing aids use one deep neural network, usually to reduce noise. Signia MaX uses four, each trained for a different job, and they share information in real time. Signia calls this Acoustic Intelligence. The four AI systems were trained on 40 million sound samples covering 11 languages, six music genres and thousands of real voices.
Signia’s campaign line is “Live Noisy”. The idea is that background noise is part of life. The music in a restaurant or the laughter around a table tells you where you are, so the goal is to manage the noise, not just cut it.
Why You’ll Love Signia Pure Charge&Go MaX
- Keep up in group conversations – RealTime Conversation Enhancement tracks multiple conversation partners as they talk and move, so you can follow the whole table, not just the person in front of you.
- Your own voice sounding natural – Own Voice Processing recognises when you’re speaking and processes your voice separately, so it doesn’t sound boomy or hollow. On MaX, it works straight out of the box with no voice training at the fitting.
- Less listening fatigue – Dynamic Noise Control identifies the noise and whether you’re in a conversation, then softens it without dulling the voices you want to hear.
- All-day rechargeable power – Up to 30 hours from a full charge, and a 30-minute top-up gives up to 6 hours. No disposable batteries.
- Streaming that works with your phone – Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth LE Audio for calls, music, podcasts, and TV on iPhone and Android devices, with Auracast coming via a firmware update.
- Three technology levels – MaX 7, MaX 5, and MaX 3 – so you can match the technology level to your hearing needs and budget.
What Makes Signia MaX Different
Many hearing aids treat background noise as one problem: detect it, turn it down. That can make speech sound flat, and the room feel cut off. Signia MaX looks at the whole moment – not just the noise.
- Four task-specific AI systems – Separate deep neural networks for speech detection, own-voice detection, scene analysis and noise processing. They drive four processing features: RealTime Conversation Enhancement, Own Voice Processing, Ambient Scene Adaptation and Dynamic Noise Control.
- Own voice processing without training – Signia is the only manufacturer with Own Voice Processing. On the previous IX platform, it needed a short voice-training step. On MaX, the AI recognises virtually any wearer’s voice from the start.
- Continuous adaptation, not fixed programmes – Older hearing aids sort sound into a few categories such as quiet, speech in noise or music. Ambient Scene Adaptation adjusts continuously, evaluating more than 800 million possible settings per second.
- A new, more powerful chip – Signia says the MaX chip has 54 times the processing power and twice the memory of the IX chip, while using 50% less energy. The hearing aid is no bigger than the Pure Charge&Go IX.
- Early evidence in group conversations – Signia’s pre-launch studies reported a 10–34 percentage-point advantage in speech understanding over competitors in simulated group conversations. These are manufacturer studies, so we’d always suggest judging MaX on trial in your own noisy environments.
How Signia MaX Works in Everyday Life
- Step 1 – Reading the scene. Two microphones on each hearing aid, plus motion sensors, feed the scene-analysis AI. It notes whether you’re indoors or out, how reverberant the room is, whether there’s music and whether you’re moving. The left and right hearing aids share this binaurally and make one decision together.
- Step 2 – Finding the voices. The speech-detection AI identifies speech in about 50 milliseconds and processes 75% more data points than IX. RealTime Conversation Enhancement then focuses on the people talking to you, rebalancing as speakers take turns.
- Step 3 – Handling your own voice and the noise. When you speak, Own Voice Processing takes over for your voice. Dynamic Noise Control decides how much to soften the noise based on what it is and what you’re doing.
In real life, picture arriving early at a busy restaurant and waiting at the bar. Nobody is talking to you, so MaX softens the babble but keeps the atmosphere. When friends arrive and the conversation starts, the room sounds the same, but your needs have changed. MaX raises speech contrast, tracks each speaker around the table and keeps your own voice natural when you join in.
Outdoors, it works the other way. Traffic noise is reduced for comfort, but enough is kept for safety. eWindScreen 2.0 manages wind on breezy walks, and SoundSmoothing 2.0 softens sudden clatters like cutlery or doors.

Who Signia Pure Charge&Go MaX Is Best Suited For
Signia MaX is a premium device, and it’s not the right choice for everyone. Suitability depends on your lifestyle, dexterity and hearing profile.
Ideal for:
- Socially active listeners – People often in restaurants, pubs, family gatherings or places of worship who struggle to follow group conversations with multiple speakers.
- First-time hearing aid wearers – Many new wearers dislike how their own voice sounds. Own Voice Processing is one reason new users settle in quickly.
- Professionals in meetings – Open-plan offices, meetings and video calls, where speech understanding across several people matters and Bluetooth streaming is used daily.
- Loop system users – Few current flagship hearing aids keep a telecoil alongside Bluetooth LE Audio. MaX does [confirm model], which matters if you use induction loops at church, the theatre or public counters.
- Frequent streamers – Bluetooth Classic covers today’s devices, LE Audio covers newer phones, and Auracast is coming for public venues.
If you mainly want an invisible hearing aid that sits deep in the ear canal, a custom in-the-ear style may suit you better. Our audiologists will always recommend whether MaX or another brand is more suitable after a thorough hearing test – we’re independent and not tied to any single manufacturer.
Signia MaX vs Signia IX and Older Models (and When to Upgrade)
Compared with Signia Pure Charge&Go IX, MaX keeps IX’s signature RealTime Conversation Enhancement and adds three more AI systems on a much more powerful chip. Own Voice Processing no longer needs training, and connectivity moves to Bluetooth LE Audio with Auracast readiness. The housing is the same size. The Pure C&G IX scored 4.5 on HearAdvisor’s independent SoundScore, so it remains a very good hearing aid.
| Feature | Signia Pure C&G MaX | Signia Pure C&G IX |
|---|---|---|
| AI | Four deep neural networks (Acoustic Intelligence) | RealTime Conversation Enhancement, no DNN control layer |
| Own Voice Processing | Works without training | Needs a short voice-training step |
| Processing power | 54× IX, twice the memory | Baseline |
| Connectivity | Bluetooth Classic, LE Audio, Auracast-ready | Bluetooth Classic |
| Battery | Up to 30 hours | Up to 36 hours [check] |
| Price at Sound Hearing | From £1,228.25 | From £[price] |
Compared with other Signia hearing aids:
- Signia Motion Charge&Go IX (Motion Charge&Go P and SP) – behind-the-ear models for more severe and profound hearing loss. Still on the IX platform.
- Signia Silk Charge&Go IX – tiny in-the-ear rechargeable aids for discretion. Also IX.
- Older models such as Pure Charge&Go AX and X use earlier platforms without AI-driven conversation tracking or LE Audio.
When an upgrade makes sense
- Your current hearing aids are 4–6+ years old
- Group conversations still leave you exhausted
- Your own voice sounds unnatural through your current aids
- Your phone or TV streaming is unreliable
- Your hearing loss has changed
When to wait: If you’re happy with Signia IX hearing aids and your hearing hasn’t changed, there’s no need to rush.

How long does the battery last?
Signia rates the Pure Charge&Go MaX at up to 30 hours per charge. A 30-minute charge gives up to 6 hours. Heavy streaming, noisy environments and battery age will reduce this.
Will Signia MaX work with my iPhone or Android phone?
Yes. MaX supports Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth LE Audio, so it streams calls, music and podcasts from iPhones, Android devices and other Bluetooth devices, with hands-free calling. We’re happy to check your phone before you buy.
Does Signia MaX have Auracast?
The hardware is Auracast-ready. Signia says full Auracast functionality will arrive via a free firmware update by March 2027.
Does it work with loop systems?
Yes, that lets you use induction loops in churches, theatres and public counters.
Can I have Signia MaX if I only have hearing loss in one ear?
Yes, we can fit a single MaX to one ear. If one ear has no usable hearing, you need a CROS solution; ask us about current Signia CROS options.

No. MaX is a private hearing aid. NHS services generally fit older or more basic models.
What if I don’t get on with Signia MaX?
You have a 60-day money-back guarantee. During that time, we fine-tune settings, try different domes or receivers, or switch to another model.
Do you offer a free hearing test?
